Romanticism at La Hougue Bie

I vait et tout les Dom's d'viser dans l'Royal Square,
E zi les vait passer la rue Trous'-cotillons.
I vait lues crinolines, i n'sait pas qui zen craire!
Ah, quand i vait trousser lues biaux roug' pétillons,
I voudrait les enl'ver à caus' que les Lunnaises
N'ont qu'un yi dans le front qui vait trop cliai partout.
I veux de biaux gniers yiers, i veut des Saint~Ouennaises,
Montais dans man ballon, fillettes de St.-Ou,
Ou trouv'rais d'zamouezeux et ardents et sincères,
De fidèles maris qu'ou liédrais par le nais!
