Jersey – Naked Ladies

Beating The Bounds bliogue:
...amaryllis belladonna otherwise known as Jersey lilies... The connection with South Africa is apt since apparently the Jersey accent is like a South African one. To me it sounded more Australian, but it certainly isn’t anything like a west country burr which for some reason is what I was imagining on the flight over.... The bit about Jèrriais is true though – it is a Jersey patois, although apparently not many people speak it today.
belle-toute-nue = Jersey lily, Amaryllis belladonna
